Ronald E. "Ron" Wagner, 66, of Watseka, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Ron was born January 29, 1945 in Chicago, a son of Andrew E. and Helen G. Wille Wagner. He married Nola E. Reiners on May 2, 1981 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schwer and she survives in Watseka.
Other survivors include two sons, Ryan Wagner of Dunedin, FL and Andrew "Andy" Wagner of Watseka; two daughters, Ronna Kraay of Seminole, FL and Nicole Wagner of Watseka; two brothers, Raymond "Ray" (Betty) Wagner of Bradenton, FL; and Russell "Rusty" Wagner of Watseka; one grandson, Allen Kraay of Seminole, FL; one great-granddaughter, Victoria Kraay of Seminole, FL; his mother-in-law, Elaine Reiners of Milford; three sisters-in-law, Marsha (Rick) Anderson of Milford, Dorothy (Kevin) Hamrick of Donovan and Verna (Keith) Roth of Milford; one brother-in-law, Lynn (Brenda) Reiners of Milford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Wagner; and his father-in-law, Walter Reiners.
Ron worked at Wagner & Sons Mobile Station through his teen years; then as a pressman at UARCO; Sales Rep for Monitor Crystal Service and then Stam Mfg. Co.; and in 1990, started his woodworking shop, Wooden Specialties.
Ron was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Schwer; served on the church council and had played on Schwer I & II Dartball Teams. He was a Boy Scout Leader and Woodworking Judge at the Iroquois County Fair.
Ron enjoyed cooking and concocting an assortment of food items that he served at several festivals. One of his specialties was his famous kettle corn. He also prepared and served lunches for Mike Peterson Auctions. Ron enjoyed playing cards, electronics of all kinds and was an avid Chicago Bears Fan.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Schwer. Rev. Matt Steendahl will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Schwer.
Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church at Schwer or Donor's Choice.
