I had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Dick while serving with him on the board of the Southern Saratoga Chamber.
Dick was always personally warm and friendly and professionally very knowledgeable on all subjects.
He was a true professional in every sense of the word.
He will always serve as a model to me of how to expertly mix business and pleasure and conduct both with aplomb.
We will miss him greatly.

I first knew Dick as a business partner more than 30 years ago. Later he designed for its former owner the unique home I today daily experience on Willard Mountain.
Dick was a gentleman of high integrity and an outstanding architectural talent. He left a positive mark on not only the built environment throughout our region but also the people he encountered whether in the office or perhaps when skiing a snow-covered slope or sailing the waters of a breeze-swept lake.
I extend my sincere condolences to the entire Butler family.

Pam and Ian,
Please accept our deepest sympathy. It seems like yesterday that we skied together and enjoyed good times on the ski team. We find it hard to believe that Dick is no longer with us. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the services because Jim is quite sick. He had thought he would be OK by tomorrow, but he seems to be feeling worse each day. He is going to see his doctor tomorrow. Please know that we care.

My sincere heartfelt sympathies to Pam and the entire Butler family.
As a member of the Halmoon town board I got to know Dick several years ago. Dick designed several projects for our community here in Halfmoon. The Senior center,Highway garage, and he also played an instrumental part in the beautiful design of our new Town Hall.
Certainly he was a architect well above the curve, and his works throughout Saratoga County and beyond exempified the designs that he culivated for each and every single project.
He certainly impacted and received respect from everyone who he worked with, but also all that knew him.
His work skills, commitment to design, and his beautiful personally will surly be missed by eveyone.
