DeTeso, Alan E. SCHENECTADY Alan E. DeTeso, of Schenectady, age 64 years, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012, surrounded by his immediate family. Born in Winchester, Mass., July 20, 1948, Alan was the son of the late Margaret (McDon ald) and Anthony DeTeso. Alan graduated from Stoneham High School and then attended RPI, where he played Varsity Hockey and Baseball. He also met the love of his life, Jacquelyn J. (Page) DeTeso. They married in 1969 and lived the greatest love story ever lived. He leaves behind his three children, Jeffrey A. DeTeso, Ph.D. (Tracy), Rachel DeTeso-Mathis (David), and Christian D. DeTeso (Sarah); six grandchildren, William DeTeso, Sophie Mathis, Jesse Mathis, Nathan DeTeso, Grace DeTeso, and Anthony DeTeso. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth DeTeso Carr, Susan (Paul) McClory; and brother, Neil DeTeso (Patty), and several special nieces and nephews, Madeleine Page, Linnea Page, Jillian (Nathaniel) Deknatel, Steven DeTeso, Annie DeTeso, Maggie (Chris) Carrill, and Paul McClory. Alan was a mechanical engineer for 42 years at General Electric, and enjoyed his position as a senior specialist in Generator Fulfillment Operations where he was surrounded by wonderful friends. He was a devoted father and grandfather, coaching hockey and baseball, and attending all of his family's games and events. He was the varsity coach of the Niskayuna-Schenectady High School Hockey Team. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, Alan enjoyed spending his spare time golfing and sitting on the beach in Cape Cod. His family would like to thank Dr. Susan Weaver and all of the staff at NYOH. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m., followed a funeral service at 4:15 p.m., both at Grace Lutheran Church, 1930 Hillside Ave. in Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Capital District Cancer Resource Foundation at PO Box 610, Latham, NY 12110.
