Bernard E. Keeler

Keeler, Bernard E. ALBANY Bernard "Bernie" Keeler, 83, passed away in Tampa, Fla., on April 5, 2013. Born in the Bronx on February 12, 1930 to the late Nathan and Marie Keeler, Bernie grew up in Albany, graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1948 and served four years in the U.S. Army. Bernie worked at Niagara Mohawk Power Company before retiring in 1988. Bernie was the beloved husband and best friend for 60 years to Jeanne M. (Gervais) Keeler. They enjoyed many camping trips and traveling across the county. He is survived by his children, Keith (Ann) and Kimberly (Sherwin). He was predeceased by his son, Kevin. Bernie also leaves behind six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Eleanor). Bernie will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of being subject to his wit, charm and crazy antics. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Clare's Church at 9 a.m. on Saturday April 27, 2013. A celebration of Bernie's life will be held immediately following at the Village of Colonie Youth Recreation Center, 2 Thunder Drive. Graveside services are private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either the , the VFW Post 8692 or the Village of Colonie Youth Recreation Program.
