Cox, Betty Josephine CLIFTON PARK Betty Josephine Cox, 94, died Sunday, February 3, 2013. She lived in Clifton Park and was a former resident of Latham and Cocoa Beach, Fla. Born in Ithaca, N.Y. on August 11, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Frances Kelsey. Betty was the widow of the late James "Art" Cox, her beloved husband, whom she married on August 24, 1940. She was the dear grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The center of her life was her family. Betty prided herself as a homemaker and seamstress, and at 90 years old, she was still making family dinners. She enjoyed playing cards and word games, and was the Skip-Bo champion of the family. A strong woman, Betty was a two-time breast cancer survivor. Art and Betty spent their summers at the Methodist Farm where they raised their family and had many life-long friends. During their retired life in Cocoa Beach, they stayed active with their friends and were members of the Riverside Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made in Betty's memory to the Methodist Sunday School Association, PO Box 645, Averill Park, NY, 12018. There will be a summer memorial service at Methodist Farm. Condolence page at bowenandparkerbros.com
