Edward F. Hurley

Hurley, Edward F. ALBANY Edward F. Hurley, 85, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Ed was the son of the late Ellen Connors and John Hurley. He was predeceased by three brothers, Jack, Tom and James and two sisters, Rosemary Jeffers and Helen Keppler and one granddaughter. Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Arlene (Turner); a daughter, Maureen (Danny) Chaffin; two sons, Edward (Marilyn "Sam") Hurley and Terry (Ellen) Hurley. Also, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Ed served proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Tarawa CV-40. He retired from the BASF Corp. in 1990 and then became director of the Albany County Veterans Bureau. He also served as a past commander of Fort Orange Post 30. Funeral services, Friday, November 22, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 10:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment, Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
