DeVito, Francis J. MECHANICVILLE Francis J. DeVito, 84, of N. Third Avenue, died Friday morning, November 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy following a short illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanic-ville born June 24, 1928, son of the late Orlando and Mary Valentino DeVito Sr., he was a 1945 graduate of Mechanicville High School. A U.S. Army Korean War
veteran, he served with the 50th Army Field Artillery Anti-Aircraft unit in Korea for more than a year. Fran was a control operator with the General Electric's Silicone Products Division in Waterford for 30 years until his retirement. A sportsman, Fran was a longtime hunter and fisherman, former golfer and enjoyed handicapping thoroughbred horse racing. He was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church. Sadly, he was predeceased by an infant son, Frank, and his daughter, Tina Ann Yaksta, R.N. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anne Caponi DeVito; daughter, Mary Jo DeVito-Symons and her husband, Kerry Symons, of Vancouver, Wash.; grandkids, Jessica (Scott) Maimone of Manlius, and Jarrod Yaksta of Stillwater; great-granddaughters, Sydney and Sophia Maimone; siblings, Anthony (Rose) DeVito of Mechanicville, Orlando "Earl" (Clorinda) DeVito Jr. of Latham, Rosemarie (Frank) Rossi of Ballston Spa, Louise Coreno of Mechanicville, Patricia (Robert) Tamaski of Georgia and Joseph (Linda) DeVito of Mechanicville, along with a number of nieces, nephews and in-laws. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at noon at All Saints on the Hudson South Church (St. Paul's) 121 N. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial with military honors at the Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S.
