Franklin R. Henderson

Henderson, Franklin R. ALBANY Franklin R. Henderson, 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 as a result of heart failure, while traveling through New Hampshire. Frank was born on December 12, 1934 in Presque Isle, Maine and was the son of the late Sewell and Hazel (Adams) Henderson. He was a Korean War veteran who served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. He enjoyed playing semi-pro baseball as a young man and worked for Sears Automotive from 1966 until his retirement in 1992. Frank had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed reminiscing and telling "old war stories." Frank loved the state of Maine and often vacationed there to catch up with loved ones. Franklin is survived by Alice Henderson; his children, Frank Henderson and Vicki (Don) Grieves; his grandchildren, Tammie Hayner and Tyler Grieves; and his great-grandchildren, Bryce and Riley. Other survivors include his brothers, Frederick and Philip, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as his long time companion, Anna Olmsted. He was predeceased by his brothers, Sewell Jr., Arthur and Ralph, as well as his granddaughter, Nicole Grieves. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the New Life Assembly of God, 292 Hays Road, East Greenbush.
