Genevieve J. (Zdunek) Hicks

Hicks, Genevieve J. (Zdunek) COHOES Genevieve J. Zdunek Hicks, 97, of Vliet St., Cohoes, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Van Rensselaer Manor in Troy embraced by her loving family. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Skulcki Zdunek and beloved wife of the late Harold T. Hicks. Genevieve resided in Cohoes most of her life until moving to Wynantskill in 1999 and she attended the Cohoes Schools. She was dedicated to her family and home and treasured the abundant love of her family. Genevieve was member of the PNA in Cohoes where she was past president. She loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gail Taddeo and her husband Joseph of Wynantskill; adored grandchildren, Jon D. Grenier Jr. of Las Vegas and Angela Taddeo of Troy; as well as several nieces and nephews, and dear friend Kim Bonneau. She was predeceased by her siblings, Veronica Zdunek, Mary Jacon, Stanley and John Zdunek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 11 in St. Michael's Church, 20 Page Ave, Cohoes N.Y. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Michael's Church, Wednesday morning from 10-11, prior to the Mass. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Van Rensselaer Manor, especially those on B-3 for the wonderful care and kindness given.
