Truax, Gerald J. "Jerry" WATERVLIET Gerald J. "Jerry" Truax, 78, of Meadow Brook Road, Watervliet died on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at his residence embraced by his loving family. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Gerald and Yvonne Mainville Truax and husband of the late Ruth O'Connor Truax. Jerry was a lifelong area resident and attended Cohoes schools. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Green Island for 28 years and was a realtor for Reality USA for 10 years. Most recently he retired from Sam's Club after 10 years of employment. He was a United States Marine Corps
veteran of the Korean Conflict
and also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Jerry was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He is survived by his devoted children, Kimberly A. (Joseph III) McCormick, Gail L. (Norman) Wason of Cohoes, Michael Truax of Madison, Wis., and Anthony (Melissa) Truax of Menifee, Calif.; adored grandchildren, Micaela, Terra, Joseph IV, Joshua, Terra, Marcus, Karen, Jamie, Clara, Mary, Samuel, Thomas, Benjamin, Clover and Ray; adored great-grandchildren, Luke, Azaria, Joseph V., Lucas, Madden, James, Natalie and Amelia; brother, Albert (Margie) Truax of Clifton Park; stepson, Kevin R. Watson of Watervliet and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his former wife, Gail Fitzgerald Truax and his step-grandson, Mac Hutzler. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial from St. Michael's Church in Cohoes follows Tuesday at 9 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Cohoes. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
