Maud J. Smith

Smith, Maud J. ALBANY Maud Jessie (Davies) Smith, died peacefully on November 4, 2012. Maud was one of nine children born in England to Mr. and Mrs. David W. Davies (predeceased). She moved to the U.S. after World War II and lived most of her life in Albany. Maud worked for a stockbroker in Albany, retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. and continued to work part-time as a sales associate for Boscov's Department Store until 2004. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed traveling to England to visit family, watching classical movies and numerous other hobbies. Predeceased by beloved husband George A. Smith (a World War II decorated veteran). Beloved mother of Michael G. Smith, Brian Smith (predeceased) Peter J. Smith (wife Sophia) and David W. Smith, retired Navy. Also survived by granddaughter, Nicole C. Smith, several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great- nephews and cousins in the U.S. and England. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 8, 9:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 125 Eagle St., Albany.
