Michael Koloss

Koloss, Michael COLONIE Michael Koloss, 80, formerly of Maplewood, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Albany on January 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael and Tekla Klubko Koloss. Michael lived in Maple wood for many years before moving to Colonie in 1993. He also resided in Port Charlotte, Fla. for a period. He was employed by the Norton Company in Watervliet for 25 years and with his brother John ran a refuse business. He was a member of St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church and was a member of the SOYUZ Society. He enjoyed horse racing, traveling and loved the Cincinnati Reds and Green Bay Packers. He is the father of Sandra (Kevin) Ostrander of Ringoes, N.J.; grandfather of Olivia Ostrander; former husband of Laura Koloss and Joan Sorvari; brother of the late Al Koloss, Bertha Raleigh and John Koloss; uncle of John Koloss and the late William Raleigh. Also survived by several cousins and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 12 noon at St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, Maplewood. Interment St. Basil's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. with the Panahyda service at 4:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church or to the .
