Raymond Thomas Galarneau(1931 - 2013)

Galarneau, Raymond Thomas SAN DIEGO, Calif. Ray Galarneau passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on July 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 5, 1931 in Schenectady N.Y. to Thomas and Alice Galarneau (Delisle). Ray grew up in Schenectady, graduating Mt. Pleasant High School, after which he joined the Navy in October 1950. He valiantly served as a torpedo man on the USS Barton during the Korean War. His tour took him across the globe with multiple ports of call throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. Ray moved with his family from Schenectady to San Diego on December 1, 1967. He worked as a salesman and regional manager in the food service industry with Hinman and Fitzpatrick in Albany, N.Y. and Interstate Restaurant Supply and Atlas Crown Brokerage in California. He enjoyed reading, fishing, building model cars and was a lover of all types of trains. He will live on in the hearts of his wife of 26 years, Helene Galarneau; two sisters, Joanne Brodrick and Mary Fearon; his three sons, Michael, Todd and Kirk; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. All who knew Ray are invited to attend services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church located at 13208 Lakeshore Drive, Lakeside, CA 92040.
