Collier, Richard M. CLIFTON PARK Richard M. Collier, age 73, of Clifton Park passed peacefully on January 18, 2013, at his winter residence in Lake Worth, Fla., surrounded by his family and friends. He was born January 7, 1940, in Cohoes, the son of the late Omer Collier and Bertha Forsythe. Mr. Collier graduated from Cohoes High School in 1958. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps
and was assigned to embassy duty in Asia as a courier for SEATO, as well as assignments in the United States and overseas. Richard became an ironworker, building projects including the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and the Mackinaw Straights Bridge. He then attended Hudson Valley Community College. Richard then worked for New York Telephone starting as a lineman in 1965 and retiring as a systems analyst from Lucent Technology in 1997. Richard was an avid fisherman, golfer, hunter, outdoorsman, and world traveler. He was a member of the Halfmoon American Legion Mohawk Post 1450, and the Clifton Park Elks Lodge
2466. Richard enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was known for his sense of humor, courage, and occasional stubbornness. He is survived by the love of his life and soulmate, Pauline Lubin. He leaves behind his son, Michael Richard Collier; daughter, Nicole Collier (Paul) Jordan; and his grandchildren, Erik Collier, Jennifer Collier, James Collier, Rachel Jordan, Katherine Jordan, Lindsay Jordan, and Megan Jordan. He also leaves behind William (Emily) Lubin, Patricia (Dean) Talbot, William (Kristen, Oliver, Evan) Lubin, Michele (Travis) Henney, Erica (Robert) Anton, David (Erika) Talbot, relatives and many other friends. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a service at 6 p.m. Burial will be on Monday at 12 noon at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
