Rea, Ronald L. "Ronnie" CLIFTON PARK Ronald "Ronnie" L. Rea, age 65, of Clifton Park passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. He was born on April 16, 1948 in Catskill, the son of the late Leonard H. and Dorothy M. Rea. He was the last born of five children. He was predeceased by his brother, Noel H. Rea. Ronnie grew up in Coxsackie and was a 1967 graduate of Coxsackie-Athens Central Schools. He joined the US Army
after high school. He then served as the police chief
in Coxsackie for 12 years during the 70's and early 80's, at a very young age. He loved music and was a well known keyboard player, and played in several local bands. During high school, he played with the "Spirits of Sound." After high school, he played with "Brown's Crossing" and "Velvet Fog." He was also the Master of Ceremonies at the original annual Coxsackie Riverside Festival from its inception. He worked for many years at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, and DJ'd as DJ Ronnie Radar on Monday nights for people with disabilities. He is survived by his longtime partner, Judy Milack; his daughter, Renee (Donovan) Brandenburg; Judy's children, Shannon and Christopher Milack; sisters, Sandra Hock, Donna (Rea) Hanscom, and brother, Dennis (Tambra) Rea. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jayden, Kyanna, Dylan, Sophia, and several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs, Foxy and Precious. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a service Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saratoga National Cemetery.
