Dippo, Maj. William G. Jr. SAN ANTONIO Maj. William G. Dippo Jr., U.S. Army (retired) was called home to be with his heavenly Father on January 15, 2014. He was born June 15, 1925, to William G. and Helen Dippo of Troy. Dad volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1942, to join the effort in World War II. After returning home, Dad met and married Mary H. Black, who was to be the love of his life for 66 years. He is survived by his wife and five children, Bill Dippo of Austin, Texas, Barbara and Frank Isom of Kingwood, Texas, Michael and Rhonda Dippo of San Antonio, Ann Siep of Niersbach, Germany and Mary and Kenn Brooksbank of San Antonio; two sisters, Joan Hogan and Barbara Dahl. They have 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren to carry on the Dippo family legacy. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Porter Loring, 1101 McCullough, San Antonio. Service, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, 12:15 p.m. at Porter Loring Chapel.
