Jakubics, William J. TROY William J. Jakubics, 79, former Watervliet resident, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 after a long illness at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Charles Jakubics and Katherine Kuntz Jakubics and beloved husband of M. Virginia "Ginny" Enders Jakubics of Watervliet. Raised and educated in Watervliet, he was a graduate of Watervliet High School. He served in the New York National Guard for ten years from 1949 to 1959. Mr. Jakubics was a machine operator for the former Behr Manning/Norton Company/ Nashua Corp. for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Norton 25 Year Club and the papermakers Union. Survivors in addition to his wife Ginny, include his beloved daughter, Diane Mary Jakubics of Watervliet; honorary daughters, Debi Stark (David) of Green Island and Regina Wood (Kevin) of Mechanicville; cousins, David McGowan (Nancy), Joan Sajler (Fred), James McGowan (Marion) and Ted McGowan (Marie); nieces, Donna Cassidy (Ronald) of Rochester and Charmaine Frye (Daniel) of Waterford; two nephews, Thomas Needell of Watertown and Richard Needell of Rochester and several great nieces and nephews. Ginny would like to extend a special thanks to his loyal friends who where like family, especially Mary Eagan, Joan and Bob Lewis and their family, Nancy, Mark, Bobby, Lisa, Kevin, Amanda (Kyle), Daniel, Jordan and Zachary for their care and concern through the years, as well as the staff on C3 at Van Rensselaer Manor for the outstanding care and compassion. Bill was predeceased by his two sisters, Elizabeth Needell and Mary Gardner. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Seventh Avenue, Watervliet where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with L. Edward Deimeke officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
