James J. Piche

Piche, James J. TROY James J. Piche, 70, of Troy passed into eternal rest on Sunday afternoon, December 23, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, Jim was the son of the late Theodore and Ruth Mantha Piche and loving husband of Dawn Gross Piche of Troy. Jim had been employed by The New York State Dept. of Labor for over 35 years. He enjoyed spending time at Saratoga Race Track, taking trips to Vermont and playing cards with his family. Jim was a communicant of The Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Albany. In addition to his wife Dawn, Jim is also survived by his children, Debbie (Izzy) Garrow of Malta, Sherry (Peter) Fleming of Lansingburgh, Tina (Thomas) Pond of Niskayuna, James Piche of Vermont, Mark (Jane) Piche of Troy, Jeffrey (Renee) Piche of Maryland, Cassie (Ed) Armstrong of South Dakota, Vincent Piche of Schenectady and Chantal Piche of Niskayuna. He is also survived by three stepsons, Joseph Phelan, Robert (Kristi) Phelan and Christopher (Ashley) Phelan all of East Greenbush. Jim is also survived by his brother, Robert (Janice) Piche of Troy and was pre-deceased by his sister, Elaine Remkus. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Jim will be held on Saturday at 8:15 a.m. from The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy and at 9 a.m. The Church of The Blessed Sacrament, 609 Central Ave., Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
