One of my earliest memories of Dave was at Fordham (my freshman year). He, Roman Laba and I had rooms in a walk-up apartment in the Bronx - overseen by an old Irish couple. On Sundays the three of us would get a pound of cold cut roast beef, a loaf of bread, and a small jar of mayonnaise, and "picnic" in our rooms. The very next semester we got our own walk-up apartment (top floor) and were quite responsible in our independence. The walk up Fordham Hill and that walk-up apartment gave us very strong leg muscles.

The Coffey Family,
We deeply regret that we were unable to be at the service for Dave. However please know that our thought's and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. We haven't seen the Coffey family in quite some time however, we will never forget the great time we had when we took our son Michael up to the Coffey's home to catch a ride out to Notre Dame with Mike. Although that seems like yesterday it was many years ago and what a wonderful impression your beautiful family, left upon us during that visit. Dave will be greatly missed however, our memories of him will last forever. May God Bless Him.

Pat, Michael, Michelle, Brian and Beth
We can't begin to express our feelings for your loss . Pat we have known you and Dave since Joey and Brian were five years old . We will always remember the kind, loving, fun man Dave was, always with a smile on his face. Because of the flu bug going around our family we are so sorry none of us were able to attend the wake . Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dave, Roman Laba and I roomed together off-campus for two years during our Fordham undergraduate days. Our fifth-floor walk-up with dirt cheap rent (sublet from an Irish waitress) was a haven for us back then. Dave's cheerful spirit was tangible, and I can only imagine the severity of your loss. All of us who knew Dave at one time or another should hold fast to our memories of him. My sympathies to all of you.

Pat and Your Family, We are so sorry. Dave and I went to Fordham together. We took several memorable trips in his car to and from Fordham at holiday times. I was so happy that we could continue our friendship by working together at the Dept. of Social Services. He was a wonderful guy, and I know how much his family meant to him. He talked about all of you constantly and in glowing terms. You are in our prayers during this sad time.
