Pete, As kids growing up we had our adventures. I keep remembering the games we played and the trouble we used to get into . Those where the days not of Wine and Roses but of fun and laughter. I was always know as Pete Stephan's sister. My come back answer was I was older by 20 minutes and much prettier. Pete you were the luckiest man I know with a wonderful wife, Carol and your sons Robbie, Greg, and PJ whom we love. You left a wonderful legacy.
Your loving twin Gerri and brotherinlaw Bill

My fondest memory of DAD was the beginning of every football game I ever played. Warm ups would begin and I always knew where he was, he always knew where I was. We would make eye contact and nod to each other at the beginning of every game, no one else saw it, no one else ever knew about it but us. He would then go sit in the stands with MOM and let her know everything was going to be ok. He was selfless like that, always taking care of those around him. He cherished his sons, he cherished his wife. Always protective of those closest to him. He always pushed us to be better, to give ourselves opportunities greater than even he experienced. He gave us those opportunities through his hard work. He played mediator in the family, always keeping the peace between 3 boys that knew everything and a MOM who knew better. He was tolerant of our mistakes (we all had them) and measured for our successes. He was humble even when he scored 56 in 3 quarters.. He was protective, he was kind, he was one of a kind. Above all else, he was in love for 51+ years and always will be. His love of family and friends has been passed down to all of us. Honored to call him DAD.

When you lose a friend of 65 years part of you goes with him. He was a brother to me. The pain we suffer is being eased by our memories of the wonderful times we had together. Bosher drive was a street of total joy. The Stephans, the nichols, the marinis growing up were the best times of our life. It's easy to describe Pete. A gentle man who loved life, his family, golf, and basketball. Our Sunday get together in Florida was a comedy event, laughter all day. I presented to his wife on many occasions the following: the Purple Heart, the Medal of Honor etc. She was a pillar of strength at all times. These last few weeks we were together during a very tough time. As it went on I wished I was on an island somewhere. How wrong. I couldn't have been in a better place. The love shown by everyone at this crucial time is a testament to Pete.
Partner, you may be gone from earth, you'll never leave me.

Our hearts are broken. We will always cherish the wonderful memories of Pete. Sharing our stories and hopes for the NY Giants, Yankees and Siena basketball, our happy times on Sunday afternoons, the Publix weekly sales flier and "what is the count?" We will always love our gentle, caring friend.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Peter was a wonderful man, who we were honored to have as our dear friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carol, Robbie, Greg, PJ and Gerry. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. He chose a wonderful woman as his wife and raised 3 fine sons. We will miss him and always remember our great times we had with him.
