Slocum, Audrey R. TROY Audrey R. Slocum, 83, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy following a brief illness. Born in Easton, N.Y. on August 1, 1929, Audrey was the daughter of the late Ralph and Olive Russell Slocum. She was raised on the family farm, Sunny Hill Farms and was educated in Easton public schools. Audrey moved to Lansingburgh a number of years ago and was employed for many years, as supervisor; by the former Episcopal Church Home on Pawling Avenue now the Canterbury House. She was a longtime and active member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Lansingburgh. Audrey enjoyed gardening, sewing and was an avid reader. She loved her home and the times spent with family and friends. She is survived by her niece and nephew, Joanne Agopovich and John William Agopovich; her grand-nephews, John William Agopovich, Jr. and Evan Agopovich; and a special person in her life, Bonnie Schipisch; as well as several cousins. A funeral service for Audrey will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet where the Reverend E. Allen Siebold will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Briarwood Mausoleum at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Audrey's family on Saturday, prior to the funeral service, from 10 am until 11 a.m. Contributions, in Audrey's memory, may be made to the Cornerstone Community Church, 570 Third Avenue, Troy, NY, 12182.
