Scarati, Carmella MECHANICVILLE Carmella Palmer Scarati, 93, of No. Main St., died Tuesday evening, February 26, 2013 at Evergreen Commons, East Greenbush, after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, she was born April 23, 1919, daughter of the late Stanislaw and Marianne Enzogna Palmer. A homemaker most of her life, she was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and had a knack for word search puzzles. A member of the Mechanicville Area Senior Citizens, she was also a lifelong member of the Assumption-St. Paul Parish and the church's Rosary Alter Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick J. Scarati in 1980, as well as her siblings, Lucy DeLucia, Americus "Jack", Nora, Jennie and Frank Palmer, Josephine Siciliano, Mary Laurenzo and Vincent "Tootie" Palmieri. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Ralph) Valenti of Troy; a son, John (Linda) Scarati of Stillwater, along with one grandson, seven granddaughters, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at All Saints on the Hudson South (St. Paul's), 121 No Main St, Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.
