Tuohey, Delores "Laurie" DELMAR Delores "Laurie" Tuohey, 84, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at home. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Helen (Nerney) Luther and graduated from Vincentian Institute. Mrs. Tuohey taught adult education classes in knitting, exercise, and was a certified first aid and CPR instructor at BCHS. With her therapy dog, Molly, she visited local hospitals and the Center for Disability Services. Mrs. Tuohey was an EMT and also a lifeguard /swim instructor at the Jewish Community Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh J. Tuohey Jr. and by her son, David Tuohey. She is survived by her sons, Daniel F. Tuohey of Delmar and Denis Tuohey of Queens, N.Y.; and her daughter, Mary Margaret Tuohey Reopell of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Kristin M., Michael F. and Margaret M. Reopell all of Syracuse; her sister, Marie (William) Miller of Glens Falls and brother, Raymond Luther of Schodack. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to St. Peter's Hospice for their care and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
