Dominick Panariello Obituary

Panariello, Dominic J. GUILDERLAND Dominic J. Panariello, 74, of Guilderland, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born November 24, 1937 in Saratoga Springs, son of James and Josephine Rossetti Panariello. Dom inicc was a driver for United Parcel Service, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Local 294 Teamsters Union. Dom proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years as a yeoman, 3rd class. Dom loved to travel and was a true family man. He was devoted to his family and cherished his grandchildren. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also a Boston Red Sox fan. Dom served as manager and also coached the Guilderland Little League teams. He married Mary Ann Calonello on April 15, 1961. Besides his wife Mary Ann, he is also survived by his sons, James Dominic Panariello (Laurie) and John David Panariello (Deborah); his sister, Joan Dreher and his brother, Victor A. Panariello; his grandchildren, Michael Dominic, Benjamin Martin, Sarah Grace and Lauren Mary Panariello; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Martha Douglas. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 5 - 7 p.m. at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpk. (Route 20). Services will begin at 9:15 Friday morning from the funeral home, thence to the Church of St. Madeline Sophie for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o'clock. Burial with full military honors in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.

Aunt Mary Ann, cousins Jimmy & Johnny; please accept out sincerest condolences on the passing of your husband and father. Although we didn't spend much tome together, we as a family have the fondest memories of your family. We have kept in touch with all of you through cousin Lisa and she usually brought us up to date on everyone when we get together. Many blessings to you as you struggle with your grief. Uncle Dominick will be remembered by all of us for his sense of humor and as my sister said, "the twinkle in his eye and mischievious smile".
