Delaney, Edward C. Frey STERLING, Va. Edward C. Frey Delaney, 52 years of age, passed into God's hands peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2013 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, SUNY Albany, and Regis University of Denver. Ed was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Delaney Sr. He is survived by his mother, Loretta (Kennedy) Delaney. Ed was a Navy veteran (lieutenant) who served in the Persian Gulf on the USS LaSalle, and as the supply officer for the nuclear submarine USS Archerfish. He was a resident of Sterling at the time of his passing. Mr. Frey Delaney was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Community, Sterling. He was an accountant and accomplished homemaker who enjoyed cooking and was devoted to his children. Beloved husband of 26 years of Mary Elizabeth Frey Delaney; devoted father of Rose, Claire, Noah and Kellan. Brother of Robert (Christine) Delaney Jr. of Ballston Lake, Rose (Cecil) Carter of Selkirk and Laurie (Nelson) Kenney of Slingerlands. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and a grandniece and grandnephews. A time of visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, 2013 between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Va. A funeral service is planned for Thursday, October 24, 2013 starting at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree St., Herndon, Va.
