Edward Kielb Obituary

Kielb, Edward J. AVERILL PARK Edward J. Kielb, 90, of Burden Lake Road, died on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Born in Rome, N.Y., Ed was the son of the late Joseph and Nora Terk and husband of Helen Fox Kielb. Ed was a graduate of Troy High School and Albany Business College, was an Army veteran of World War II and was discharged with a rank of staff sergeant. He had served in the Pacific Theater with the 708th Army Tank Battalion and was a recipient of a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, NYS Conspicuous Service Cross, NYS Conspicuous Service Star, Army and Navy Commendations along with other awards and citations. Ed retired in 1980 from General Electric in Schenectady after 39 years of service. He had been a large parts assembler. Ed was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the American Legion Post 1489 in Wynantskill. Ed was a car enthusiast, especially Fords and was an original backyard shade tree mechanic and also enjoyed his walks around town. Ed was the brother of the late Henry Kielb and Irene Gela Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Edward S. Kielb of Lansingburgh; a daughter, Helen (Marty) Pelcher of Averill Park; and his grandsons, Luke and Farrell Pelcher. Funeral service Tuesday 10 a.m. at St. Henry's Church, Co. Rte. 45, Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park on Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment, St. Henry's Cemetery If desired, donations in memory of Edward Kielb may be made to St. Henry's Church, PO Box 550, Averill Park, NY 12018.

I will always remember the times we had at your house growing up and Big Tex sitting on the front porch watching us and even the last time I saw him he was still sitting under the big tree in the front yard..You are always in my thoughts and prayers..God Bless you in your time of saddness..I'm so sorry...
