Emma Mancinelli Obituary

Mancinelli, Emma GLENMONT Emma Spero Mancinelli, 94, former Troy resident, died peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar. Until her illness she lived with her loving daughter and son-in-law in Glenmont. Born in New York on December 14, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John Spero and Rosina Cerasoli Spero, and wife of the late Alfred D. Mancinelli. Raised and educated in New York City, she graduated high school and continued her education at the New York School of Design and Pattern Making where she graduated with honors. Emma enjoyed crocheting, sewing, all kinds of crafts and was an avid reader. She loved sports, especially the New York Yankees and would watch every game that was on television. Survivors include a daughter Carolyn Bruno (Michael); two sons, Alfred J. Mancinelli and Michael J. Mancinelli; three grandsons, Michael J. Ferrante, Alan Mancinelli (Rachel) and Christopher Mancinelli (Christie); and three great-grandchildren, Toni, Valorie and Kristen Mancinelli, who she loved dearly. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Good Samaritan for their many acts of care and kindness during her stay. A special thank you to Deacon Bob, Father Thomas, Pastor Steve and Sister Mary Frederick for their daily prayers and blessings at mom's bedside. As well as everyone from hospice who were always at mom's side. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial Mass on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, South Troy. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Emma's memory may be made to the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center, 125 Rockefeller Rd., Delmar, NY 12054.
