Vellotti, Florence M. BRUNSWICK Florence M. (Hall) Vellotti, 79, died peacefully at her Route 7 residence, Saturday, June 16, 2012 with her family by her side, following a long illness. Born in Stephentown, August 8, 1932, Mrs. Vellotti was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence M. (Goodrich) Hall and for over 52 years the wife of the late Michael J. Vellotti who predeceased her in January 2006. Florence and Michael were married November 8, 1953 at the former St. Patrick's Church in Troy. Mrs. Vellotti was a graduate of Averill Park High School and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh where she earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing. For over 25 years she was employed by the Brittonkill Central School District and worked as the school nurse at the Tamarac Elementary School. She retired in the early 1990's. Mrs. Vellotti was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church and the former St. Patrick's Church in Troy, a member and avid bocce player at the Italian Community Center in Troy and a member of the AARP of Troy. She enjoyed the hobbies of playing cards with friends, knitting and crocheting with the "Happy Hookers" group, traveling including a recent cruise to Alaska and was always confident enough to do Sudoku puzzles in pen. Florence is survived by her daughter Rosemary (Rich) Palella of Brunswick; her sons, Peter (Marge) Vellotti of Flemington, N.J., Walter (Tammy) Vellotti of Williamstown, Ky. and Michael Vellotti of Las Vegas, Nev.; nine grandchildren, Jeanette, Michael L., Danny, Meghan, Lauren, Troyce, Michael J., Scott and Kate; and a great-granddaughter Brooke. In addition to her parents and husband, a brother the late Charles Brown also predeceased her. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc, 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown and then at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, at North Lake Ave and Marshland Ct. in Troy, where Fr. Randall Patterson will celebrate a Mass of Christian Resurrection. Burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Evergreens in New Lebanon. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 20, from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Vellotti, if desired, may be made to "Toys for Tot's" c/o the funeral home at 2237 NY-7, Troy, New York 12180.
