Romaine, Francis D. SOUTH GLENS FALLS Francis D. Romaine passed away on August 24, 2012 at his home after a long illness with his family at his side. Born on December 18, 1921, he was the son of the late Dominick Romano and Jennie (Conde) Romaine. Frank married the love of his life, Laura B. Lockwood, on October 11, 1946. They shared 66 years of marriage, love and friendship together, and raised their three children. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in various locations in the Pacific Theater with the Navy Seabees. He retired after working for 30 years with the A&P Tea Co. as a truck driver in Albany, and following retirement worked for another 11 years as a security guard at the Albany County Nursing Home. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and going on vacations. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Romaine. In addition to his wife, Laura, survivors include his son, Anthony Romaine and his wife. Linda; his son, Frank Romaine; his daughter, Janet Byers and her husband Lex of Rochester, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Tonya Meade and husband Todd, Tammy Marissal and husband Garrett, Anthony Romaine and wife Christy, Frank Romaine Jr., Trinia Romaine, Lawrence Saville and wife Nicole, and Laura Byers; as well as five great-grandchildren. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, September 6, 2012 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., So. Glens Falls, NY 12803. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. following calling hours on Thursday with Deacon William Bazinet officiating. The burial will take place in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871. The family would like to thank Dr. William Tedesco of Glens Falls, as well as Kelly from Saratoga Hospice for their care and compassion during Franks' illness.
