Cardamone, Frank RENSSELAER Frank J. Cardamone, 89, of Rensselaer, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany. Frank was born in Mech-anicville, the son of the late Guiseppe and Maria (Mosca) Cardamone. He was a Navy veteran of four years in World War II, achieving the rank of electricians mate aboard a minesweeper, the USS Swift. Frank then became a crane operator and signmaker for his own company, ABC Sign Co., in Rensselaer for many years before retiring in 1992. Predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Fitzgerald) Cardamone; siblings, Patrick Pascucci, Victor Pascucci, Rose Lazarus, and Anna Moore. Frank is survived by his daughter, Frances (late James) Hughes of Rensselaer; a son, Thomas F. (Patricia) Cardamone of Wynantskill; and a brother, Ray Cardamone. Frank was also the proud grandfather of Michelle (Ralph) Rataul, Thomas (Carol) Cardamone, Michael Cardamone, and Nicholas Cardamone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc., Rensselaer. Friends are invited to his wake on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the funeral. Entombment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at a time convenient to the family.
