Sokoloski, Gloria Frances WATERFORD Gloria Frances Sokoloski passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the home of her son and in the loving presence of family and friends. Born March 14, 1929, Gloria was the daughter of the late Anita and Guiseppe Minucci. She was raised in Cohoes and graduated from Cohoes High School where she met her husband, the late James Sokoloski. They resided in Cohoes and were communicants of St Rita's Roman Catholic Church. Later in life they wintered in Stewart, Fla. where Gloria became an avid shuffleboard player. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before Jimmy's death in 2008. Gloria was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed nothing more than being a mother to "Joey". She loved unconditionally and with generosity. She maintained a quiet sense of humor, laughing at Joe's crazy jokes even the day before her death. She enjoyed Johnny Mathis and Andrea Bocelli, going to the movies, Verdile's Restaurant and The Racino, but especially enjoyed being with her family. And they enjoyed her! The time Gloria spent living with them over the past weeks has given each member of her family warm and unforgettable memories. Gloria was the beloved mother and best buddy of her son, Joseph Sokoloski and his wife Mary of Waterford. She was the loving grandmother of Lynn Bramski and her husband, Bob, and Laura Sokoloski of Waterford and she was adored by her great-grandchildren, Hailey and Nathan Townsend and Mallory Bramski, also of Waterford. She will also be sadly missed by her loving nieces, Carol Verchereau (Francis) and Maryann Pedersen of Cohoes and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning 11 o'clock at Holy Trinity Church. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Marra Funeral Home, 246 Remsen St., Cohoes, N.Y. Tuesday evening from 4 to 7. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery Waterford. The family wishes to thank Dr Robert J Campbell, Dr Adrian Karatnycky and associates, Dr Lawrence Garbo and the NYOH staff, the ER and fifth floor staff at St Mary's Hospital Troy and the nurses and staff of Community Hospice, all of whom offered skilled and compassionate care to Gloria and those who loved her.
