Barnes, Grace M. LATHAM Grace M. Barnes, 97, formerly of Cohoes and Latham, died peacefully at her daughter's residence on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 after a long illness. She was born in Cohoes and graduated from Cohoes High School and was the daughter of the late Burdett and Mary Roylance Demers. She worked for an insurance company from 1946 until her retirement in 1990. She belonged to the Women's Guild at St. James Church, Saturday Club and the Auxilians and Volunteers of the Eddy Cohoes Rehabilitation Center. Grace led a full life and was an avid card player. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter E. Barnes Jr. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Mary Ellen Barnes of Latham, and her much adored grandson, Nicholas Doseff. Funeral, Monday, July 8, 2103 at 11 a.m. at the Dufresene Funeral Home, Inc., 216 Columbia St., Cohoes. Interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Contributions in Grace's memory may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany. Mary Ellen wishes to express her sincere gratitude to her friends, co-workers, boss, and Grace's special caregivers for their support.
