Corey, James A. Sr. GUILDERLAND James A. Corey Sr., 73, entered into eternal life peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany, he was a lifelong resident of the Capital District. Mr. Corey was the son of the late James H. and Gladys E. Corey. Mr. Corey was employed by the state of New York Department of Transportation. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, a Cub Scout leader and a Little League manager. He was also a member of the Masons. He was the beloved husband for 46 years to Anne Hoffman Corey. He was predeceased by his grandson, Jonathan Daniel Corey and his sister, Jean Karins. He was the loving father of James Jr. (Sandra) of Duncansville, Pa., Michael Sr. of Colonie, David Sr. (Tammy) of Guilderland, and Brian (Angela) of Latham; grandfather of Ashley, Summer, Taylor, David Jr., Michael Jr., Joseph, Dominic and Rocco; great-grandfather of Isabella and Gabriella. Mr. Corey was also survived by his sister, Mary (Robert) Cozzens; his brothersin-law, Donald (Susan) Hoffman and Paul (Deborah) Hoffman and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at Frederick Funeral Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany followed by interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A special thanks to Albany Medical Center SICU unit staff and doctors for their compassionate care to Jim and his family.
