Connery, Jeanne Marie PORT ORANGE, Fla. Jeanne Marie Connery (nee Ahearn), 71, of Port Orange, passed away December 26, 2012 at the Halifax Volusia County Hospice after a long battle with ALS. She was born February 16, 1941 in Waterford. Jeanne graduated from the Saint Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 and spent her entire 40 year career as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange. She enjoyed line dancing and calling bingo at her community center and spent her summers in the Adirondack Mountains at Brant Lake. Survived by her husband of 50 years, James (Ned); sons, James Jr. of Rochester N.Y., John (Pamela) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; daughters, Jeanne (Steve) Starr of Waterford, N.Y. and Janice of Norcross, Ga.; brothers, Jack (Sue) of Waterford, James (Paula) Cohoes, N.Y., Jerry (Sue) Jacksonville, Fla., Jeffrey (Tracy) Ashville, N.C. and four grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, McKenna and Colin. She was predeceased by her mother, Ethyl Demers and father, John Ahearn. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Lansing-burgh where Rev. Thomas Connery, Jeanne's brother-in-law, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., (corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Society, National Headquarters, 1275 K St. NW, Suite 1050, Washington, DC 20005, in memory of Jeanne M.
