Sheehy, John J. "Jack" Jr. ALBANY John J. "Jack" Sheehy Jr., 70, died at home Monday, December 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John J. Sheehy Sr., and Marian Crithlow Sheehy. Jack was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club and Albany Elks. He was a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a longtime bartender at Son's Tavern in Albany and also a self-employed turf accountant. Jack enjoyed horse racing, the New York Yankees and Dewar's White Label. He was the husband of Barbara Martin Sheehy; father of John J. Sheehy III (Barbara), William S. Sheehy and Patrick S. Sheehy; stepfather of Lisa A. Payne and Rocco J. Oppedisano (Chrissy); brother of Linda Brown, Lisa Archer (Tom) and the late Mary Jo Morbidelli; grandfather of Jacelyn Shumway, Mattingly Sheehy and Reegan Sheehy; and he is survived by his loyal and faithful basset hound, Bentley Sheehy; along with several nieces. Funeral services, Thursday at 10 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany thence to All Saints Catholic Church, Albany at 10:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment, Albany Rural Cemetery.
