Carey, John Joseph SARATOGA SPRINGS John Joseph Carey, of Saratoga Springs, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, December 1, 2012. He was born on October 25, 1943 in Troy, the son of the late Robert and Mary Markey Carey. He married Lynda Joyce Clairmont of Troy. John served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1966. He was a member of the first crew on the USS Hunley, and was present during the Cuban Missile Crisis. John loved spending time with his family and dog Bob. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Carey; and his daughters, Jackie Carey and Cindy Isherwood; and son, John Carey II (Felicia); grandchildren, Victoria Isherwood and Tyler and Bailey Carey. A Mass with Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5 at St. Clements Catholic Church, Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, December 4 from 5 p.m. 8 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs. Interment will be held at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, N.Y. at 11 a.m. Funeral arrangements under the care of Compassionate funeral care, 518-584-4844.
