Swasey, John W. WATERFORD John W. Swasey, 76, of Roberts Road died suddenly Thursday, May 3, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at Ellis Hospital after being stricken at his place of employ-ment. A lifelong Waterford resident he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Fazzone Swasey. He was a 1953 graduate of Waterford High School. Jack has been employed for the past seven years at Clifton Knolls Country Club. He had retired in 1996 from the Norton Co. where he had worked for 40 years. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Waterford Council 237 and the Troy Lodge of Elks. In his retirement years, Jack enjoyed golf, spending winters in Florida and his part-time job at the golf course in Clifton Park during the summer. He is survived by his wife Sandra Harley Swasey. The couple would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Saturday May 5. He is the father of Sharon A. Nosal (David), Sheila M. Rubino (Michael) and Stephen Swasey (Kimberly) all of Waterford. He is brother of Mary Hines of Waterford and the brother-in-law of Mary Lou and Robert Goyer, Robert and Joyce Harley, Ned and Pat Harley and Larry and Debbie Harley all of Troy. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brian and Brandon Nosal, Alyssa and Michael Rubino and Rick and Ian Kennedy as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 8 at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Route 32), Waterford and at 9:30 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Jack's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Ellis Hospital Emergency Room and Neurological ICU.
