Middleton, Karen K. ALBANY Karen K. Middleton, age 45, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Born in Troy, she was raised in Nassau and later lived for several years in the Cleveland, Ohio area before returning to Albany, where she lived for more than 15 years. Karen, lovingly known as "Katie" to her family, was a 1985 graduate of Averill Park High School. She was employed in several retail positions over the course of her life. She attended Pineview Community Church and participated in a Ladies Bible study there. Katie enjoyed reading, listening to music and attending concerts with friends. She loved animals and enjoyed traveling. Despite long term physical challenges, Katie's positive outlook and strength of character enabled her to live independently. Her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Karen was predeceased by both parents, Harold V. and Jean Post Middleton. She is survived by two brothers, Jack A. (Marcia) of Averill Park, and Frederick A. (Debra) of Broadalbin, and a sister, Nancy A. Middleton of Nassau, as well as two nephews, Jeremy and Matthew Middleton and a niece, Hope Middleton. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 22, 3-5 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. with Rev. Brian French officiating at the W.J.
