Millington, Karen M. (Britt) CLIFTON PARK Karen Marie Millington, 55, beloved wife and mother peacefully passed at home in the loving company of her family on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Dearly loved wife of 22 years to Scott Millington, Karen adored above all else being a devoted mother to her two sons, Christopher Scott Millington and Andrew James Millington of Clifton Park. When she wasn't baking up something sweet in the kitchen or venturing off to Canada for a winter weekend with the family, she found solace and sanctuary since she was a young girl at the family lakefront camp in Speculator. Spending quality family time together enjoying and restoring the camp were the moments Karen truly cherished. Born in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Behlen) Britt. A graduate of Queensbury High School and Siena College in Loudonville, she had earned a bachelor of science in accounting. Mrs. Millington enjoyed a successful career including her time at Glens Falls National Bank before leaving to enjoy motherhood. She found bliss later in life with a second career at the Shenendehowa Central School District office. The joy came from helping to place pre-k students where they could get the most out of their education, including those with special needs. Karen will also be remembered as a loving sister by Kathleen Gaiser of Queensbury, Michael (Sandy) Britt of Cape Canaveral, Fla. and Matthew (Karen Sue) Britt of Merrimack, N.H.; a loving aunt to Amy Lee Britt, of New York, N.Y., Rachel and Connor Britt of Merrimack. The funeral will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church (2001 Route 9 at Ushers Road) where she was a communicant. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held at Airdville Cemetery, Lake Pleasant, in the spring. Karen's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Collea and everyone at NYOH for all their care and support over the past seven years. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, donations.bcrfcure.org in memory of Karen Millington. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park.
