Anderson, Kenneth P. MELROSE Kenneth P. "Gramps" Anderson, 73, of Melrose, died peacefully on November 22, 2012 at his residence with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Helen Mossey Whitney and Floyd Whitney and the beloved husband of Julie Mollnow Anderson of Melrose. Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, class of 1955, and was a retired truck driver for Fane Concrete Company (Callanan Industries) and had worked for Getty Oil and the Menands Market. He was a former member and past president of the Men's Club of Transfiguration Church (St. Bonaventure's) and a former member of the Melrose Fire Company. Ken bowled with the Rensselaer County volunteer firemans league for 39 years. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his daughters, Debra Macey (Allen) of Troy, Lynn Smith (Rupert) of Melrose and Karen Anderson of Troy. He was the brother of Charles "Butch" Anderson of Wynantskill, Rosemary Cosgrove of Speigletown, Robert "Murph" Anderson of Troy and the late Marjorie Carbonneau. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, AJ, Kyle, and Brandon Macey, along with Kayla and Chelsea Smith and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November, 26, 2012 from Transfiguration Church (St. Bonaventure's) in Speigletown at 9 a.m. The internment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke. Friends are invited and may call at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Ave. (124th and 125th streets) in Lansingburgh on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. If desired, donations may be made in Ken's name to the Center for Disability Services in care of Freihofer House, 61 Carlyle Ave., Troy, NY 12180.
