DeThomasis, Larry LOUDONVILLE Larry DeThomasis, 71, of Loudonville and Vero Beach, Fla. died at home Wednesday, May 25, 2011 with his beloved family at his bedside. Born and educated in Abbateg gio, Italy, he was the son of the late Sante and Rosa DeThomasis. Larry had previously lived and worked in France, Luxembourg and Canada before coming to the United States in 1965. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran. He was the owner of Pagliacci Ristorante in Albany for over 30 years and was the former owner of Larry's Hideaway. He was a partner in R D T Construction Co. and in DeThomasis, LLC. Larry loved to cook and entertain, play cards, spend time in his Florida home, and attend the Saratoga Race Track. But most important to him was spending time with his dear family and close friends. He was the beloved husband for over 43 years of Anna Scipione DeThomasis; loved father of Daniela DeThomasis, Rosa Foley (Brian), Larry DeThomasis Jr. (Johanna) and Sandra DeThomasis; cherished grandfather of Benjamin Lawrence, Anna Maria, Gabriella Ana, Lucas Lorenzo and Silas Grey; dear brother of Cristina Scipione (Anthony), Matilde Nardone (Marino), Anna Ruzza (Franco), Filomena Popolizio (Nicola) and the late Anthony DeThomasis; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews survive. Funeral services Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 7:45 a.m. from the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 8:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call Friday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
