Kilcauley, Lois L NORTH PORT, Fla. Lois Kilcauley, 90, peacefully passed on November 25, 2012. She was the daughter of Charles and Leo Lee, born in Los Angeles and raised in Hawaii. Lois received her education in California and Hawaii. She met her husband, Elmer, near Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he was sent after having been drafted in 1941 during World War II. Lois was a member of the Women's Air Raid Defense (WARD) and married Elmer and started their family after the war. Because of her husband's military career, Lois and her family lived many interesting places, more recently, Massachusetts, Maine and Florida. Lois enjoyed her vegetable and rock gardening, square dancing, bridge playing and cooking her Asian, German and many other recipes. Also, sewing, reciting and sharing pieces of literature in and around the water for family and friends, especially poetry, such as, "Sea Fever" by Masefield. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (John) Thomas of Massachusetts and Linda (Roger) Dellaire of Florida; grandchildren, Demian David of Massachusetts, Jessica Flaherty of Massachusetts and William Nowosielski of Massachusetts; great-grandchildren; her brother, Stanley J. Lee of Nevada, and several nieces and nephews on the East and West coasts. Lois' husband, Elmer, predeceased her on October 8, 2012. A memorial service was held on December 8, 2012, at Holiday Park of North Port. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice of North Port.
