Ratelle, Matthew PETERSBURGH Matthew Ratelle, 40, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 after an incredibly courageous fight following a hit-and-run accident on September 3, 2012. Matthew was bicycling when he was struck by a car and left in critical condition. Matt-hew and his family recently relocated from Bennington, Vt., to Petersburgh, while bidding on their new home. Matthew was a graduate of Chicopee High School and Springfield Community College in Massachusetts. He was employed at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in the radiology department since 1995, and was also a per diem technician with Insight Imaging Pet CT since 2007. Matthew's family and friends will always remember him as the gentleman that he was, with his beautiful eyes, long eyelashes and infectious smile. He was the go-to person, always having the right answers and being happy to help. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, tennis, bicycling, and playing a good game of cards, but his true passion was his family. Matthew leaves behind his wife and soulmate, Jennifer (Ritoch) Ratelle; children, Kylie, Connor, and a baby on the way; his parents, Gerald and Helen (Partyka) of Chicopee; his brother, Jay Ratelle, and sister-in-law, Kim (Kuta); nephew and godson, Hunter, and niece, Kylie, of Chicopee; his sister, Missy (Ratelle) Broxton, and brother-in-law, Fred; niece, Lyndsey, and nephew, Trevor, of Enfield, Conn.; his father and mother-in-law, Edward and Sheila Ritoch of Pittstown, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, corner of Eagle Street and Madison Avenue, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with Matthew's family on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet.
