Sgambellone, Michael A. SLINGERLANDS Michael A. Sgambellone, 76, died Friday, November 9, 2012 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Affectionately known as "Chubby," he was the son of Dominick and Mary (Femia) Sgamb-ellone. Beloved husband of Mary (Carmody) Sgambellone; loving father of Michele (Paul) Clarke, Patricia (Myron) Miske, Marie (Roselli) Simon, Beth Sgambellone and Regina (Michael) Cirilli; devoted grandfather of Jennifer and Melissa Clarke, Michael and Jacob Simon, Drew and Morgan Hardt and Stephanie Cirilli. Mike was a retail grocer and meat cutter beginning with his father's business, Don's Food Market, spanning many years at Grand Union, Star Market in Delmar, Ravena, Guilderland and E. Greenbush as well as Hannaford Brothers in Delmar. Mike, above all, was devoted to his family. He loved the sport of golf and was a fixture at many local high school sporting events. Throughout his life he enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod. Mike touched many lives and selflessly gave to others unconditionally throughout his life. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Sgambellone, and two nieces and two nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 12, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Church on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
