Lape, Michael R. HALFMOON Michael R. Lape, 58, of D & R Village, died on Friday, November 9, 2012. He was born on January 23, 1954 in Troy, the son of Raymond G. and Edith M. Morey Lape. He was a graduate of Averill Park High School. Michael was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the Military Police and Fire Company. He was a sales coordinator at Lowe's Department Store in Latham. He was a lifetime member of B.A.S.S., and the American Bass Anglers Society and the F.L.W. he was a former member of the American Legion. Michael was also a past member of the West Sand Lake Fire Co. He was an avid fisherman, who did tournaments in New York, Vermont and Virginia. Survivors include his father, Raymond G. Lape; his wife, Laurie Gordon Lape, whom he married on July 20, 1996; two daughters, Amanda Radley and Melissa Orth; three brothers, Alfred J. (Tracey) Lape, John (Lori) Lape, Edward (Dixie) Lape; and a sister, Shelley (Brian) Denue; one grandchild; Remy. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Marilyn Gordon. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at The Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, from 4-8 p.m. Inurnment with military honors will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions in Michael's memory may be made to the West Sand Lake Fire Department, P.O. Box 539, West Sand Lake, NY 12196.
