Furdon, Mildred A. GUILDERLAND Mildred A. Furdon, "Millie", 84, at rest on Thursday December 6, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Lexington, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John and Grace (Day) Rycroft. Millie came to this area in 1959. A home maker who raised seven children, Millie greatly enjoyed quilting, needlework and knitting. She was a member of the Guilderland Seniors Quilting and the Church of St. Madeleine Sophie. She was also an avid reader. Millie was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late William Furdon Sr.; beloved mother of Kathryn (the late Rodney) Lemon, Mary Pat (Bill) Sullivan, William (Susan) Furdon Jr., Barbara (Garth) Childs, Margaret "Peggy" (Todd) Gifford, John (Tammie) Furdon, Grace (Donald) Reinhardt; loving grandmother, "Muttie", of 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; beloved sister of Marjorie Szili, Martha (James) Lima, and the late Mary O'Connor and Madeline Donovan, Millie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Troy Miller of Altamont, for his out pouring of generosity and love. You were a heavenly gift to Millie and her family. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Madeleine Sophie, 3500 Carman Road, Guilderland. Burial will follow in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Millie's name to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308. They both gave us great support at a very difficult time.
