Davis, Richard E. MALTA Richard E. Davis, 71, of Malta, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Albany on July 28, 1941, and lived in the Round Lake-Malta area since 1970. He served in the U.S. Army. At age 16, Dick joined the East Greenbush Fire Department and became a member of the Round Lake Fire Department in 1970. He served many years as chief and then lastly as safety officer. He enjoyed camping, hunting, cooking and spent many hours watching the Food Network. He was predeceased by his father, F. Norton Davis, and his mother, Harriet "Evelyn" Egner. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Catherine Davis; his beautiful children, Laura Williams (Russ) of Mount Victory, Ohio, Richard E. Davis Jr of Castleton, Shirley Seefeld (Ray) of Burnt Hills, Curtis Davis of Ballston Spa, Wendy Hamill of Vernon, Conn., Lisa Ross (Michael) of England, Taralee McGrath (Evan) of Ballston Lake and Monique Davis of Malta; his beloved grandchildren, Nicole, Christina, Alicia, Bambi, Josh, RJ, Nick, Tommy, Joshua, Jordan, Alexa, Aleyna, Kyla, Kelsey and Carter; his brother, Norton "Sonny" Davis (Barbara) of Ballston Spa, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, November 19 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2776 Route 9, Malta. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at St Peter Lutheran Church. The firemen will hold a service at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
