Albright, Robert EAST GREENBUSH Robert Albright, 88, of East Greenbush, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at home. Born in Albany, Robert was the son of the late James and Ada (Newkirk) Albright. Bob proudly served in the the Navy during World War II and then worked as a brakeman on the railroad for B&A, was a patrolman for the North Greenbush Police Department and worked security for Samaritan Hospital. Bob was also the owner of Albany Rensselaer Paint and Glass. Bob proudly served his community through Rensselaer Kiwanis, the Chamber of Commerce, Rensselaer Elks 2073, the VFW, American Legion and the American Motorcycle Association. He and his wife were also awarded Community Members of the Year for their volunteer work at Green Meadow School. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Prins) Albright; devoted father of Wendy (Robert) Barody, Kimberly (David) Thomas, Lauren (Bryan Thomas) Albright. Bob was also the proud grandfather of Bob Barody, Carrie Courtney, Frank Culhno, Matt Thomas, Kelsey Thomas, Murphy Thomas and several great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Hospice Inn at St Peter's. We would also like to give special thanks to Sheree, Ty, and Tammaray for the outstanding care they provided to him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Robert's funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. Friends are invited to attend his calling hours from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be in East Greenbush Cemetery, East Greenbush. The family has requested that those who wish, make memorial donations in his name to the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's, 319 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12209.
