Gamache, Robert D. COHOES Robert D. Gamache, 63, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family in the care of hospice after a long illness. Born in Cohoes, he is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Margaret (Meuse) Gamache. He is the son of the late Eleanor (Halacy) and David White. Father of Joseph Gamache, Robert E. Gamache (Darcy) and Robert D. Gamache Jr. (Mary-Jo). Predeceased by a daughter, Kelly (Green) Finn. Brother of George (Dawn) Gamache, Roger (Colleen) Gamache, Darlene (Scott) Mould and the late Earl (Raymond) Gamache, Edith White and Eleanor Charlene White. Also survived by several grandchildren, great-grand-children and nieces and nephews. Robert worked at Comfortex for several years before becoming ill. He was known to many as The Bear. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and sports. His most enjoyable moments were those spent with his family and friends. He will be missed by many. Funeral services will be held in the Marra Funeral Home, 246 Remsen St., Cohoes on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name may be made to cancer research of the donor's choice or to community hospice of the donor's choice. The family would like to express their thanks to hospice and the doctors and nursing staff.
