Muscatiello, Ronald N. WATERFORD Ronald N. Muscatiello, 71, of John St. died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Anthony W. and Edna Kent Musca-tiello. Ron had been employed by several state agencies and retired in 1997 from New York State Office of General Services. He was a member of the CSEA Retiree Local 999. Ron belonged to many organizations; he was an honorary member of the Cohoes Knights of Columbus Council 192 and enjoyed working bingo on Monday nights as well as the dinners held at the council. A member of the Waterford Bocci League, he held the honor of "Bocci King", proudly using his cane to boast of his accomplishment. He was a member and officer of the Cohoes Assembly 734, a director of Columbus Home Association, the Cohoes Silvertops, the Troy Italian Community Center as well as being a 40-year member of the Troy Lodge of Elks #141. For many years Ron worked diligently at the concession stand for the Halfmoon Baseball League. He enjoyed playing Santa and seeing the excitement on children's faces when he came to their home or school. He was an avid and loyal NY Giants and NY Yankees fan. He was a well-known patron of Don and Paul's Restaurant in Waterford. One of his favorite pastimes was watching reruns of the "Andy Griffin Show", "I Love Lucy" and the "The Honeymooners". Ron was formerly a communicant of the former St. Anne's Church, Waterford and St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes. He was currently a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. He is the husband of 47 years of Lynda Perrier Muscatiello; and father of Tina Hurley (Bob) of Halfmoon and Anthony T. Muscatiello (Ginger) of Water-ford. He was the cherished grandfather of Tara and Thomas Hurley and Nicholas Muscatiello. Funeral services will be Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 8:45 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in Gerald BH Saratoga National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to St. Mary of the Assumption Church Restoration Fund in care of the funeral home office.
